Adela Madrigal Jones

Adela Madrigal Jones is the retired Superintendent of Sanger Unified School District. She began
her career as an elementary teacher before leaving the classroom to work in the English
Learner Services Department for the district. She then moved on to administration, becoming a
Vice Principal and Elementary Principal, an Area Superintendent, and eventually Associate
Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. She assumed the role of Superintendent in July
of 2018.

Adela’s leadership work focused on developing effective systems for improved student
achievement. She is committed to ensuring that every student, regardless of background or
circumstances, has access to high-quality education. Adela has helped build environments
where educators share best practices, reflect on student data, and collectively work toward
enhancing student outcomes. She brings a unique perspective to the board as Sanger Unified
has had a partnership with California Education Partners for over a decade and she credits Ed
Partners with supporting Sanger Unified in its continuous improvement model for systems.

Adela received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from California State University, Fresno and
her Master’s Degree in Bilingual Education from Fresno Pacific University. Along with her
credential in Multiple Subjects, she also has her Bilingual Specialist Credential, as well as her
Professional Administrative Credential. She also serves on the WestEd Board. In her free time,
Adela enjoys spending time at the family cabin in the mountains or traveling with her husband.
