Ed Partners Perspectives

Supporting Teachers to Keep Students On Track

In September 2024, California Education Partners launched its 5th On Track network.  The goal of the network is to increase A-G completion with a focus on 8th and 9th grade students.

Sanger Unified joined this collaborative with strong systems and robust structures, which they are looking to augment through the work of their new Math TOSAs (Teachers on Special Assignment). Over the past few months, the TOSAs have had a significant impact on the instructional outcomes of their students. Their approach has been multi-faceted, employing in class reteaching supports, organizing deployments, supporting teachers with instructional coaching, and gathering and sharing evidence to refine their processes and examine their efficacy.

Through the efforts guided by the TOSAs, reteach efforts have demonstrated significant improvements in student academic outcomes. Nearly all students demonstrate improvements in assessment scores and D and F grades have been reduced by over 10%. These improvements coincide with teachers reporting that they have been able to increase the rigor of the coursework given to students. Additionally, students report feeling supported and having a greater sense of efficacy around their ability to do well in mathematics. What the Sanger team has been able to accomplish in a single semester is incredibly exciting. We look forward to seeing how their efforts develop.

System Change Begins with our Youngest Learners

With the expansion of Transitional Kindergarten, many districts are looking to connect the dots for their youngest learners.  Ed Partners has a proven track record in this space; the case study of Lake Tahoe Unified School District is just one example.

Don’t miss an opportunity to reserve a spot in our next our Preschool to Third Grade collaboration for the 25-26 school year.  Don’t hesitate to reach out to Steve Kellner with any questions you may have.
